The Pacific Northwest Building Resilience Coalition (PNBRC) welcome its newest member, Concrete Alberta.
Representing over 93% of the concrete producers in the province of Alberta, Concrete Alberta is fully funded by more than 270 companies and has been servicing the industry for 56 years. Concrete Alberta is the recognized authoritative voice of the concrete industry in Alberta.
“Our Vision is to provide value to all members and stakeholders by effectively meeting the challenges facing the concrete industry. I am excited to be partnering with the PNBRC to further the achievement of Concrete Alberta’s vision and support the visions of the other PNBRC members through our collaborative efforts.” said Dan Hanson, the Association’s Executive Director.

Speaking on behalf of PNBRC, William Larson, Vice-President Marketing at CalPortland, said “we look forward to the active engagement and insights from Concrete Alberta’s members.”
“We share a common commitment to furthering the planning, development, and construction of buildings and associated infrastructure better able to recover from and to adapt to the growing impacts of an ever-changing urban and physical environment,” he added.
PNBRC will be collaborating with attendees of the Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) at the annual PNWER Summit held July 22-26 in Spokane, WA.
Among other infrastructure related topics, the coalition will discuss “Building for Resilience” which recommends design beyond current building code minimums that are designed to ensure occupant safety but also to minimize building damage and ensure its rapid return to functionality.
PNWER is a statutory public / private nonprofit created in 1991 by the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington, the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
