Building Resilience

New Speakers for The Pathways to Resilience Webinar Series

As governments move toward rebuilding resilient infrastructure and economies after COVID-19, how do we build economies and infrastructures in ways that are clean, safe, and above all, resilient? Why is this important to our policy and decision-makers? Learn more about why these conversations matter by registering for the full webinar series today!

In light of state, province, and pending federal legislation such as the Washington State “Climate Commitment Act” and state and federal “Buy Clean” legislation, building material manufacturers will require adaptation to stricter greenhouse gas emission regulations.

An opportunity exists for a profound paradigm shift to a more sustainable economy that works for both our planet and its inhabitants.

As the most widely used material on earth, after water, concrete is fundamental to the world around us.

Cement and concrete provide resilience to the effects of climate change while reducing CO2 emissions and attaining GHG reduction targets, and will play a vital role in addressing the effects of climate change. In December 2020, the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) announced its “Climate Ambition” plan to address the impacts of climate change.

The Climate Ambition launch enhances the industry’s commitment to driving down its CO2 footprint to achieve carbon-neutral concrete by 2050 and unites the world’s leading cement and concrete manufacturers in taking decisive climate and sustainability action.

The conversations around resilience, carbon reduction goals and infrastructure will continue at the PNWER 30th Annual Summit taking place in Big Sky, Montana, August 15-19, 2021. The 2021 Summit promises robust in-person and virtual content and networking opportunities.
