The Building Resilience Coalition commissioned an in-depth analysis by GLOBE Advisors of the Study of Carbon Sequestration in Wood-Based Building Products. This project involved the review of hundreds of peer-reviewed studies on carbon sequestration in wood-based building products across their entire life cycle, from forest harvesting to landfill disposal. It enabled the development of clear messaging about the true carbon footprints of such products to better inform architects, property developers, engineers and policymakers about the need to build more resilient buildings. The first in a series of articles on the Sequestration studies is available here.

GLOBE Advisors undertook an Assessment of Insurance Cost Differential for Mid-Rise Residential Structures. This was an in-depth analysis of factors affecting costs for mid-rise residential buildings, with an emphasis on factors contributing to the differentials in insurance rates for wood-frame buildings compared to structures built using various non-combustible materials such as cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, concrete blocks, or insulated concrete forms. This research was conducted on behalf of the Concrete Council of Canada.
A Press release summarizing the key finds is available here.
