Collaborating on Carbon Neutral Concrete Construction

May 19, 2022 @ 1 ET / 12 CT

Reducing emissions across all sectors is critical if we are to combat climate change. With the passage of the infrastructure bill and the urgent need to improve and expand our cities, it’s critical that we build in a way that is both resilient and sustainable.

The cement and concrete industry has charted a path to carbon neutrality and the Portland Cement Association’s VP of Sustainability will discuss what the industry is doing today to cut its carbon footprint. Additionally, there are opportunities for others along the cement-concrete-construction value chain to collaborate and further their own sustainability goals and meet customer expectations.

Join us to learn about opportunities across the value chain to achieve carbon neutrality for the future built environment.

Among the topics:

  • What sustainable and resilient infrastructure looks like in the future.
  • Near-term actions the cement industry is taking to reduce emissions.
  • Opportunities for the construction industry to be a part of reaching a carbon neutral concrete-built environment.
  • How collaboration furthers overall societal sustainability goals.

Learning Objectives:

  • What the cement industry is doing to cut its carbon footprint (today).
  • Ways that the construction industry can be a part of reducing emissions along the cement-concrete value chain (tomorrow).
  • How this furthers overall sustainability goals and meets customer expectations.

The Portland Cement Association (PCA), founded in 1916, is the premier policy, research, education, and market intelligence organization serving America’s cement manufacturers. PCA members represent the majority of U.S. cement production capacity, having facilities across the country. The association promotes safety, sustainability, and innovation in all aspects of construction, fosters continuous improvement in cement manufacturing and distribution, promoting economic growth and sound infrastructure investment.
